I have both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Skyraider. They are both very nice. The Gen 2 offers a little more brightness range and different reticle options. The 2 moa dot and and 6MOA circle provide another means of extra brightness and/or larger reference. Both Gens have low parallax distortion on the edges of the reticle. The slight hood on the optic helps keep glare from creeping into the glass.
At first I was a bit skeptical with this optic. Big window, multi reticle, etc. I've seen this done before...or so I thought! The window on this optic is shaped in a way that presents the dot faster on transitions and the multi reticle option proves to be more useful than I thought it would be. The 6moa Circle allows me to bring the brightness up in the daylight with little to no distortion. This is a big gain for me as I suffer from astigmatism in both eyes. This has been my favorite reticle option so far as it allows me to maintain a target focus easier without having my vision getting drawn into the dot.
The larger circle and circle/dot options could also prove valuable in Steel Challenge as most of the practice I have done allows for easy hits on round plates by simply outlining the plates with the large circle. This will take some more time to test out so I can see if this is faster or not for me. Overall this is a phenomenal value for a quality optic that has already won me over!
What a great company! They wanted to make sure I had great success with my purchase. Fast shipping, well packaged. Dot is very bright, and crisp. I had to get a different mount for my Staccato HD as this dot has overhang so I had to use the same plate as the SRO and it mounts perfectly. Dot is holding zero and doesn’t wash out in bright sunlight. Also I have shot into the sun and did not get a false dot like you do on other big name dots. I would highly recommend.

I shot uspsa match after putting on the sky raider gen 2 on my pistol. Very pleased. Will update with more use.
